Day 18 in NICU

Day 18 in NICU

Today was a much better day! Got up at a decent time and headed to the hospital. I always feel good about leaving the kids on days they are headed to school. Today they were excited to see the firetruck that was visiting.

Abby is still 1 lb 15 oz-she needs to gain another 30grams before we can really celebrate. Seems like we are stuck at 1 lb 15 oz but I know she will get there soon. She was in another cute outfit today and she had fewer apnea events since they have split her caffeine doses in half (once in am and once in pm). They did increase her CPAP to a peep of 6 and this is also helping her as well.

I did notice today that she wasn't as "pink" as she has been. Her color just wasn't right to me and the nurse agreed. Got a chance to speak to Dr. Wong about it and she said she is a little anemic (which we new that's why we started the Epogen). We would continue to watch her and monitor her blood levels but there is no concern for a blood transfusion at this time. Her vitals looked really good and she is perfusing oxygen well. And of course she is still very active.
